Child Nutrition Reauthorization
An opportunity to improve child nutrition programs and work towards
ending childhood hunger!
The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization provides an opportunity to make significant improvements to school meals, summer meals, meals served at after-school programs and day care, and WIC.
The Nutrition Consortium of NYS, along with anti-hunger partners across NYS and the nation, are advocating for improvements to child nutrition programs through the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act. Our goal is to make changes through the Act so that these programs will reach more hungry children, and with more nutritious foods.
The Nutrition Consortium of NYS has joined thousands of advocates and partners from across the country which calls on the Administration and Congress to enact a reauthorization bill that:
-
assures and strengthens program access and supports participation by underserved children and communities;
-
enhances nutrition quality and provides adequate meal reimbursements; and
-
modernizes technology and simplifies program administration and operation.
